Jarvis, a London-based fintech startup in the pensions space, has raised $2.3 million in funding.

Founded in 2022, Jarvis allows employees to visualize, manage, and invest in both personal and workplace pensions in different "jars." Users can plan for retirement using tools around their goals and budgets and also consolidate existing pension contributions.

"I've built my own life on the concept of freedom and I wanted to do the same for pensions with Jarvis," Royden Greaves, CEO at Jarvis, told Business Insider. "We want to empower people with knowledge, rather than just a value or investment gains figure because while some people have access to advisors, most people don't. Our platform is built around the theme of age, where are you today, and when is your retirement, so you can plan."

Jarvis lets users with existing workplace pensions transfer their holdings to the platform, offering pre-made or custom investment options for auto-enrolled employees or self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs) in the UK.

The startup has raised $2.3 million in seed funding in a round co-led by Ascension VC and Cornerstone VC, with participation from Tokio Marine Future Fund.

"Fundraising was interesting, it took slightly longer than we expected but we had support from our existing investors," Greaves added. "It's good to go through a good level of rigor and diligence because I firmly believe the best businesses are built in economically challenged conditions."

Funding will go toward growing Jarvis's "small but mighty" group of people, with the team set to grow from six to 10 people. Similarly, funding will go toward R&D as the company grows its product offering.
